& REPORTS
Individuals sometimes have difficulties at work due to a specific condition or injury. Others may get into trouble with employers or the law and require the assistance of a range of professionals (e.g., Lawyer, Psychiatrist), including a Psychologist. As a “treating” (Counselling or Clinical) Psychologist, I help assessing or counselling a person with a view to alleviating a condition, injury or behaviour and thereby aid recovery. My specialty focus is within the area of personal, relational and emotional issues. This can involve tendering advice and/or a report as a third party requests.
As a “non-treating” (Consulting or Clinical) Psychologist my role is to tender advice and/or report as may be required, to establish: the nature of any professional treatment of the condition or injury; an opinion as to a diagnosis of the nature and extent of any condition or injury; a view as to the relationship of any condition or injury to a particular incident or accident; an opinion as to the therapeutic or other treatment given or required; prior functioning of the injured person and or the prognosis for recovery from the condition; and a view as to the effects of the condition on the person in relation to employment and/or enjoyment of life.
For example, a person bullied at work believes they have been emotionally injured as a result of being harassed; they may seek my help for assessment and/or treatment. Another example may involve a person who has been charged with fraud, assault or an alcohol-related offence whose Solicitor/Barrister requests a "Pre-Sentence Report" from me for a court appearance; this report may follow psychological assessment and/or counselling treatment. |
