University Background
Until I resigned my tenured position, I was Senior Lecturer, Course Coordinator and Clinical Practicum Supervisor in the School of Psychology at Australian Catholic University, where I had been on staff for over a decade and was the only Psychologist in the department.
I hold qualifications from The Ohio University [Harvard on the Hocking] (Doctor of Philosophy), The University of Queensland (Master of Educational Studies), Australian Catholic University (Bachelor of Education), and Queensland University of Technology (Diploma of Teaching, Graduate Diploma in Counselling). I am responsible for over 200 contributions to publications and presentations in counselling, psychology, education and pastoral care.
I am a Registered Psychologist and Accredited Supervisor with the Psychologists Board of Queensland, a Registered Supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association, a Full Member of the Australian Psychological Society (and College of Clinical Psychologists) and a Registered Teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers.
I am a Counselling, Consulting and Clinical Psychologist with a fulfilling private practice providing counselling, mediation, training, clinical supervision, assessment and medico-legal services. I have completed terms on the editorial boards of prestigious peer-reviewed journals Counselor Education and Supervision, Professional School Counseling, and the Australian Journal of Guidance and Counselling. I was awarded for Leadership in International Collaboration by the American Counseling Association. I have made significant contributions to national associations including the initial development of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and was twice President of the Queensland Guidance and Counselling Association. |
